Case Study - Gensler
White paper by Riverbed Technology, Inc., published on 9/6/2011
Regulations require San Francisco-based architecture firm Gensler to retain its design data for periods of up to 20 years. The firm previously used two mirrored optical drive systems to archive the more than 4 terabytes of data it needed to store each year. When that system's vendor failed, Gensler decided to move its archived data to the public cloud and implement Riverbed® WhitewaterT cloud storage gateways. This solution allowed the company to reduce the amount of data storage needed by 50 percent, reducing the cost of storage and creating a viable archival strategy.
